Every fall, the leadership of the Boy/Cub Scouts of Unit 305 in Kearny hosts a Halloween party for their Scouts. This year, they plan to expand their outreach to the community to include more youth and their families in the festivities. The Unit 305 Fall BAZAAR will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, and will feature a “Trunk or Treat” and “Haunted Walk” as well as a 305 “Trading Post: Flea Market.”
The Unit 305 Fall BAZAAR is a Scouting event for the community which is FREE to enter with a suggested donation of non-perishable food. The food donations will be incorporated into Unit 305’s annual “Scouting for Food” drive to benefit the food pantry of St. Stephen’s Church. While the “Trunk or Treat” event will be held in the parking lot of St. Stephen’s Church and the other activities in Hedges Hall, the event is hosted solely by Unit 305.
Vendors selling their wares will be at the 305 Trading Post Flea Market from 1 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018. The entrance is at 676 Kearny Avenue from 1 – 9 p.m. in Hedges Hall of St. Stephen’s Church. The Haunted Walk is a kid-friendly Halloween excursion from 6 – 9 p.m. The Trunk or Treat is also kid-friendly opportunity to go trick-or-treating from the trunks of vehicles within the parking lot of St. Stephen’s Church. Local service organizations have volunteered to decorate their trunks to contribute toward this Halloween community event. The entrance for both the Trunk or Treat and Haunted Walk is on Laurel Avenue, in the St. Stephen’s Church parking lot.
Make sure to come in costume to get into the Halloween spirit and join in the festivities of The Unit 305 Fall BAZAAR.
